A Man’s Flounderings in Fructose

We will start with a little mild mellow drama

A substance that, when introduced into or absorbed by a living organism, causes death or injury, esp. one that kills by rapid action.

All things in moderation folks but never forget that high Fructose Corn Syrup is an unnatural substance. The smallest dose leads to the increased production of insulin, causing instantaneous insulin resistance. Insulin resistance is the cause of Type 2 Diabetes.

Here is a link to a very interesting series of lectures on how and why the obese in the developed world are undeniable victims of a system designed to keep people eating the foods that are making them sick.

I can not stress enough the flimsy façade of the justification that a lack personal responsibility is the strongest contributing factor to obesity. Robert Lustig outlines why the farse is faulty in this series focusing on sugar.

3 Facts to Further Fast Food Force Feeding: Food giants knows them and so should you

1) Human being have a biochemical urge to consume sweets, in a sweet dense food climate this evolutionary edge is counter productive to healthy diet and downright obsolete.
2) High fructose corn syrup is one of the sweetest substances ever concocted by likes of man
3) Of the 145 items on the MacDonalds menu, only 8 contain no high fructose corn syrup (and four of those eight come with dipping sauce that does)

Its easy to roll eyes at this, considering that a great many shy away from fast food and soda these days, but even certain foods marketed as health alternative have a little dose of the HFCS.

Read Labels, refuse to buy products that contain HFCS, and complain to your favourite food companies when HFCS is added to your eatings. Every drop sucked out of the grocery store is a dime in your pocket when you consider the rising costs of government sponsored medical care demanded by the obesity epidemic.
